Strength, Mobility Fitness Classes – What Exactly is Inner Strength’s True Grit?
True Grit, in its raw form, is a combination of gymnastic and animal based movements designed to safely and progressively develop fundamental strength, mobility and general physical preparedness (GPP). The key ingredient needed to excel in whatever endeavour you chose to take in life is ‘true grit’. Hence, the name! Moreover, it isn’t something that we’re necessarily born with. However, it is something that we can cultivate with knowledge, support and consistent practice.
Benefits You can expect from True Grit
You can expect to develop stronger, healthier joints and connective tissue. Having flexibility without strength or strength without flexibility can lead to disfunction, pain and ultimately injury. We encourage strength and flexibility through a greater range of movement (ROM). In the majority of cases, this kind of training will relieve joint pain entirely!
A big component of True Grit is core strength and dynamic movement. There are only two muscles that connect the upper body and lower body. Strengthening the core musculature has an overflow effect to the whole body and mind. Therefore, it not only improves balance and a feeling of confidence, but a sense of general wellbeing.
We have such a fantastic group of ‘true gritters’. It really feels like an encouraging team intent on becoming better versions of ourselves. There’s always plenty of laughter going on amongst the sweat and tears.

You can also expect some other rather welcoming benefits like the development of long, lean muscle tone and fat loss*. Athleticism is another outcome, which is great for keeping one step ahead of your kids or grandkids.

We have trainees who have been doing True Grit for almost over a year now. Increased levels in strength and mobility are a predictable marker of progress. That said, rapid improvement is more evident to those who practice consistently as opposed to intensely. In fact, that is where the real magic happens and where ’True Grit’ gets its name. So, no matter what level you’re at right now, developing ‘true grit’ will guarantee your success and a new and exciting you!

Monday – 6:15am to 7:15am
Tuesday – 6:15am to 7:15am
Thursday – 6:15am to 7:15am
*Note: As the numbers of practitioners increases, we will be looking at running classes from Monday through to Friday. At this stage we’re practicing just 3 mornings per week.

Well where do I start… having been a hard core soccer player back in my late 20’s to my mid 30’s, and managed to ‘kill’ my knee’s and tighten my achilles. I also like to play a good game of Tennis, which is tough on the body too.
